This is my granddaughter, Erin at age 4 – on a fishing trip at a local lake. It was summer and the sun was just beginning to add the right warmth as a backdrop when she caught a fish. I'd have to say there was some Divine intervention in the timing: After I saw this particular shot – I realized how many things were perfect: The sunset, the child's rosy cheeks, the fish was exactly sideways as we needed it, her belly button was covered precisely by the tag end of life jacket strap and her arm in a cast to remind other little 4 yr old girls not to chase little boys at preschool – because Grandmas was right – boys have cooties.

Erin loves to fish – loves to boat – and knows that no boat starts until her life jacket is on and zipped snuggly. She is the poster child for life jackets in our family.
