This photo shows my best friend Lewis Peeler and his son Shannon with a pair of crappie they caught on east Arkansas' Old Town Lake. Shannon was on his very first crappie fishing trip; Lewis is an experienced crappie angler.

Look who caught the biggest crappie--not the experienced dad but the inexperienced son. When we go fishing, we always follow all the safety rules, including first and foremost, everyone in the boat wearing a PFD.
