About sturgeon and the Columbia River

This fish was a catch & release. In the Columbia River you cannot take the fish out of the water and you will notice the tail is still in the water.  These Sturgeon are protected in all the Columbia River drainage except below Bonniville Dam on the Columbia River.  It is the last dam before the Columbia River dumps into the ocean.  They do have a season there with a slot limit between four and six feet long.
